Frozen themed shared kid's Bedroom

It's not a secret that we are obsessed with the show 'Frozen' around here. Like most people I know, we have seen the movie and listened to the songs a million times. So, I thought the kids would enjoy having a Frozen themed room. When I presented the idea, they were both thrilled, more especially Diana because she knew what I was talking about. Mr Eli just went with the flow:)

I made this story board for my inspiration. I LOVE everything about it. At first, I was worried about having too much white, but I have become very fond of it and I really hope it works in 'real life.' Since my son and daughter will be sharing this room, I had to use neutral colors. I will be adding a pom pom garland, a picture wall gallery and maybe a floral wreath.

It will probably take me ages to achieve this look. I will be making the crib bedding and doing a lot of painting to cut on cost. I absolutely enjoyed my daughter's finished room here, it took forever but was worth it.

Stay tuned, I will be posting the pictures as we go.  Wish me luck

Tiny Dazzles

I have been M.I.A here on the blog and these cute bow ties are part of the reason. A few weeks ago, I decided to start a new business and we named it TINY DAZZLES.

Tiny Dazzles is an online store specializing in mommy and baby accessories. I am wayyyyyyyyyyyyy excited for this new adventure. I am loving every minute of it and I am overwhelmed with gratitude because of the help and support I have received from family and friends. I am grateful to have people believe me, I feel really blessed.

The 'grand opening' is next week Monday, the 15th of July. So, come back Monday and see what we have in stock. Our goal is to make mommy and baby happy. Lets face it, when mommy is happy, everyone is happy! and when baby is happy everyone is happier:) at least that's the case in our home...

There is a cute story related to the naming of the business which involves no other than miss Diana:). One day, we were watching Bill Cosby (my old time favorite show) and Mrs Cosby was baby sitting a small baby. Diana was less than a foot away from the screen, very taken with the show. Then she turned around and said, 'mommy, I want a baby.' Her little brother Eli was about 10 months old then. So I relpied, 'we don't need another baby, we have Eli already' She looked at me again and said, 'no, I want a tiny baby I can hold in my hands like this (with her little hands very close together)' Eli was weighing 24 lbs at the time, so I guess he didn't qualify to be called a baby. I laughed my head off but the answer was still no! Anyway, that was the birth of Tiny Dazzles; dazzling accessories for mommy and tiny babies..

My husband also got accepted into the Finance Maters program at The U. We decided to move closer to downtown SLC. We plan to get out of here within a few weeks. So all my sewing and my kids projects, here and here have come to a halt. I won't commence until we find another place because I am certain the floor plan will be different and hopefully I won't have to make major adjustments.

See you soon!

Nautical nursery storyboard

My fabric finally arrived yesterday. I get 99% my fabric from here . I am ALWAYS very happy with my purchases from them. Sometimes I forget that I bought the fabric with my money because each package feels like a treat.. The fabric is extremely affordable, the best price I have found online. They have all sorts of fabric, home decor, apparel and quilting fabrics.. One stop store for me.

I decided to make a storyboard for my son's nursery. I made him his current bedding when I was 8 months pregnant. I really didn't have the energy to do it exactly the way I wanted, as a result, the bumper fell apart and I am not a fan of the sheets anymore. I never even got to make him a blanket (he is 8 months old now) I know, sad story. With summer around the corner, I decided to get everything new, hurray! I am excited to see how it all turns out. I am not doing any major  painting or furniture making in his room, so I am hopeful it won't take too long to finish, maybe 2 weeks max.

Fabric: boats/red & white stripes/solid red /navy/navy & white stripes Decor: wooden whale(saw it here but I don't think they have it anymore)/mini lantern/anchor pillow/swing shelf/sailboat (got it at half price last year)

So, I am making the bumper, fitted sheet, crib skirt, swing shelf (a PB knockoff), pillow and quilt. I really do like the whale decor, but I am not yet sure if I will make it (fingers crossed).

Wish me luck!
